Diversity

There is a wonderful event that happens every Spring in Sarasota! The event is called Embracing our Differences. Artists from across the world submit pictures that are about diversity. When the winners are selected their pictures are blown up and put on to billboards. I have been going to this outside exhibit for the last three years and have yet to be disappointed! Over spring break I plan on taking my dog to the park and enjoying these wonderful works of art!

Oh bless my soul!

If I can give you one piece of "ice cream" advice it would be: you need to drop everything and go try some of this delicious ice cream.
//Allow me to introduce you to\\

Dave Mathews Band's Magic Brownies- the description is Black Raspberry Ice Cream Swirled with Sweet Cream Ice Cream & Fudgy Brownies.

Heres how I was introduced to this ice cream (Just in case you wanted to know). I went to a funeral on Saturday and afterwards I was feeling a little bit down so I decided to take a little trip to Target to cheer me up. As a result of my wondering I ended up in the frozen food department right in front of the ice cream. I glanced over the variety of flavors and came across this amazing flavor. After reading the description I asked myself a question: What better way to make a grey cloud go away....ICE CREAM!!!

Not only is this tastefully satisfying, but a portion of the profit goes to helping the environment! http://www.lickglobalwarming.org/
It's a win win situation!!

Wanted: NERDS

For weeks I have been trying to complete this bulletin board. The board started with the shirt, its my team shirt that students can buy, and then during FCAT I drew the face, which came from the book Plantzilla by Jerdine Nolen. I decided on the title NERDARRIFIC because I wanted this board to be motivational, but to include the character as well. Nerd + Terrific = Nerdarrific! Lastly, came the encouraging words that are sticking out from the board. My students seem to enjoy the board and hopefully it will motivate them to keep on going!!

Where are your roots?

In science class we have been learning about how all living things share similar characteristics:
1. All living things grow
2. All living things reproduce
3. All living things respond to its environment
4. All living things are organized

I believe the same is true for those who follow Christ. We share the same characteristics:
1. We grow closer in our relationship with Christ
2. We reproduce the fruits of the spirit
3. We respond as Christ would to others in need around us
4. We have a purpose for our life that has been organized by Him

He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

To blog or not to blog

Ugh...I have been some what of a horrible blogger. I think about what I want to blog about, but never get the time or muster up the energy to actually sit down and BLOG. If only my mind and "Oh Happy Day" were on the same page!

I have my second observation tomorrow...the class that is being observed is the one that always gives me a run for my money! So, I am praying that all goes well and they behave! Well until next time have a blessed couple of days!!

Liberty of London + Target = Amazing

I am already in love with the new line for target, Liberty of London. The prints are crisp, creative and to borrow a word from my mom whimsical. Not to mention every time the commercial is on TV I start singing along with it.

“The birds are sending down a message
Flower blossoms over head
Sun is coming
Life is humming
Were improving
The world is blooming”

I will have to take a little field trip to target to check out these beautiful prints!

A day without Joe

Today I went without coffee. A full day of teaching minus a cup of Joe could be disastrous. Fortunatly, for me and my students the lack of caffine did not have much of an affect as I thought it would. Now I have a nice relaxing weekend ahead of me; hopefuly this sinus infection will disapear!
